Job description

Senior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery – fixed term appointment from 1 October, based at The Lister Hospital, Stevenage. The post is full time and the appointee will participate on the middle grade rota.

This opportunity is within the Plastic Surgery department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The appointee will join the Plastic Surgery team, working with 11 Plastic Surgery consultants. The on-call rota is non-resident. Opportunities will be available to develop skills in a number of subspecialist areas in Plastic Surgery.

Although near London, Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage are in rural settings and well served by rail and road, with housing, schools and leisure facilities available.

Main duties

• Initiation of the necessary investigation of patients and the referral to the relevant on-call specialist team when indicated.
• Seeing patients in the Plastic Dressing Clinic.
• Operating with consultants on both elective and trauma patients.
• Seeing patients both on the ward and in outpatient settings.
• Independently carrying out minor operation lists.
• Part of a 1-8 on-call rota.
