Overview

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Paediatrics department.

Our client is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country, with a staff of over 12,000, a turnover of around £1 billion and one million patient contacts a year. The Trust comprises two of London's oldest and best known teaching hospitals. The hospitals have a long history dating back almost 900 years and have been at the forefront of medical progress and innovation since they were founded. Both hospitals continue to have a reputation for excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • 50% educational work: liaising with teams, developing programmes and delivering teaching.
  • 50% clinical work: work a full on-call system delivering clinical care at registrar level in a department aligned to training interests and level.
  • Work with the Director of Education & Education and Training leads to provide training for trust staff, with a focus on medical education.
  • Help develop and deliver Undergraduate teaching within the trust.
  • Work with College Tutors to plan and deliver other clinically focused education and training as applicable for doctors in training.
  • Support Junior Doctors reps in developing their team and improving the training experience of all junior doctors.
  • Develop own medical education interests or projects; take part in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, clinical guideline and protocol development, and clinical risk management.
