A 9 month fixed term Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar job based at University Hospital Dorset working across both the Poole and Bournemouth sites. There may be the opportunity to extend to 12 months
An opportunity has arisen for an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar position based at University Hospital Dorset. The post is ideal for building upon skills in general obstetrics and gynaecology. The post holder will work as a member of our team comprising of 24 consultants, 16 registrars and 12 SHO's. The applicant would take part in providing in and out of hours cover to our patient population. The post will involve elective gynaecology in the form of clinics and theatres as well as acute and elective obstetrics. Where possible specialist interests may be accessible.

Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. The applicant should have at least 1 year of experience working at registrar level in the UK. They should also be in possession of their MRCOG. They would be expected to be able to supervise junior registrar on labour ward out of hours.
Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to work as a team.
The successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the Departments governance programme, including participation in department meetings, safety initiatives and morbidity and mortality meetings. The successful candidates will be expected to fully engage with Appraisal as part of GMC Revalidation.
