Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The rota is a full shift pattern providing 24 hour cover to the Emergency Department with 1:3 weekends. The shift pattern is new deal compliant with a 1A banding. The pay banding may change to comply with new working practices or regulations relating to the reduction of Junior Doctors Hours. This job are for Senior Clinical Fellows based at Chelsea and Westminster Emergency Department (0.6WTE) and remaining time in developing simulation, teaching and medical educational skills.

The post holder will be expected mainly to provide out of hours clinical work in the Emergency Department.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • MBChB or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Provider status in at least one of ALS/ATLS/PALS
Desirable criteria
  • MCEM
  • Instructor in at least one of ALS/ATLS/APLS/PALS
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Experience in delivering and organising teaching
Desirable criteria
  • Formal teaching courses / qualifications
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable A&E and previous NHS experience
  • Understanding of Clinical Audit
Desirable criteria
  • Previous work at Middle Grade level in ED.
  • Peer review medical publications
