Job description
Overview

The senior clinical fellow will be an integral part of the acute medical workforce involved in the clinical reviews of Day 2 and Day 3 patients.

The post is for 12 months and will provide excellent training in the management of the common and important presentation normally seen in acute medical setting and give insight into the management of acute ill patients.

The post would be an excellent preparation for specialist training post. It will be a 9am-5pm job with one long day (4 hours) per week. The work pattern is flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical reviews of Day 2/3 Medicine referred patients.
  • Clinical decision making around discharges.
  • Ensuring ward jobs are carried out as planned on the post take ward rounds by consultants.
  • Clinical review of sick patients and stabilise and escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide senior support to junior medical team members
  • Perform basic medical procedures as required.
