Job description
The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Client Accountant to join our Client Accounting team. This role is pivotal in managing complex property portfolios (residential, commercial, and mixed-use) and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to clients. You will act as the primary point of contact for accounting matters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

This role can be based in either our London or Reading office. The role requires at least one day a week in Reading

Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management
    • Oversee all aspects of client and property accounting for a designated portfolio.
    • Act as the principal contact for clients, surveyors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
    • Deliver clear, accurate reports within agreed deadlines.
  • Service Charge Accounting
    • Manage service charge budgets and year-end reconciliations in line with RICS and The Property Institute standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to HMRC requirements, including VAT returns and tax reporting.
    • Maintain compliance with RICS and industry best practices.
  • System Expertise
    • Utilise TRAMPS for property management and accounting processes.
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.
  • Client Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive financial advice.
  • Audit & Projects
    • Support year-end audits and assist with ad-hoc projects or financial analysis.
  • Essential
    • Significant experience in real estate client accounting.
    • Familiarity with RICS, The Property Institute, and HMRC reporting requirements.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
