Overview
We are hiring a Senior Cladding Designer to join a growing design team in Liverpool. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of cladding projects with occasional travel to London for design meetings (expenses paid).
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
Arrangement: Full-time, hybrid role for the right candidate with a minimum of one office visit and one site visit per week (alternatively, two site visits in a week with no office visit that week)

Duties
- Draft and design semi-autonomously from verbal, written and sketched instructions
- Produce cladding construction detail drawings, elevations, and plan layouts
- Prepare accurate panel and sub-grid setting out drawings
- Carry out material take-offs and liaise with the commercial team to ensure specifications are met
- Undertake site surveys, photography, and regular weekly site visits
- Attend design and progress meetings, raise and track RFIs, and issue technical submissions to clients
- Liaise with suppliers, request specifications, fire performance data, U-value and condensation risk calculations
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, and site teams to resolve design issues
- Produce hand sketches where required to communicate design intent
- Ensure drawings are updated and maintained on cloud databases and regularly issued to clients
- Maintain project documentation including change logs, RFI trackers, and technical records
- Identify design changes that may affect costs and highlight these promptly
- Support continuous professional development through supplier CPDs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Designer within the cladding sector
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, PDF software, and Microsoft Office (3D AutoCAD/SketchUp/Revit beneficial)
- Strong knowledge of cladding materials, fire barriers, fixing types, and U-values of external walls
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and layouts from sketches, surveys, and photos
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise tasks under pressure and manage multiple live projects
- UK driving licence preferred
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
