Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer for a 6-month contract in Manchester. The role involves leading technical solutions and ensuring the integrity of designs within regulated environments. Candidates should have 5-10 years of engineering experience, a BEng degree, and preferably chartered status. Occasional site visits will be required.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years' experience in civil or structural engineering.
  • Background in nuclear, oil & gas, or complex process industries.
  • Chartered status with ICE or IStructE preferred.
  • CSCS card and flexibility for site-based engagement as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Produce structural analysis, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with BIM teams to ensure effective translation of designs.
  • Engage with cross-discipline teams and attend design reviews and client meetings.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to support project progress and technical resolution.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, reviewing output and guiding best practice.
  • Represent the civil/structural function confidently with stakeholders and partners.

We’re supporting the mobilisation of a short-term design contract within the regulated infrastructure sector and are looking for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to lead on the delivery of technical solutions across a fast-paced, multidisciplinary programme.

This role will suit an experienced engineer who can work independently, communicate confidently across teams, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of civil and structural designs in highly regulated environments.

The Role
