Job description

Do you have a passion for Civil Engineering?

Are you driven to create solutions for the unprecedented climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges facing our clients and the wider community? Then make a real difference and join us at Stantec!

We are excited to continue our growth journey in Northern Ireland, with plans for expansion in 2025 and beyond.

We are delighted to continue our work on Northern Ireland Water’s IF182 Professional Services Framework and, to support our growth, we have moved to a new city center office in Belfast.

This exciting pipeline of work, coupled with the scale of opportunity across the AMP8 cycle in the UK—including supporting Southern Water—means that we are seeking Civil Engineers at all levels with experience in the water/wastewater industry to join us.

In addition to delivering work locally, you will have the opportunity to support Southern Water's AMP8 Professional Services Framework by delivering vital resilience and improvement schemes across the South of England. This includes designing nature-based solutions to improve water quality, reduce overflows, enhance biodiversity, and lead in hydraulic modelling, water recycling, and digital innovation.

You will play a key role in the team, developing technical solutions and providing advice to our clients. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams. Building strong relationships with external stakeholders and clients will be essential.

We aim to support your career development, learning, and job satisfaction. Your role will be varied and challenging, offering opportunities to learn from the wider group and advance your career.

About You

You will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field, with some experience in the regulated water industry. You may be working towards chartered status (e.g., IEI, ICE, CIWEM).

You should have knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, networks, and treatment. Experience in areas such as Clean Water and Wastewater Treatment, Trunk Mains, and Large Diameter Pipeline Design is preferred.

Previous consultancy experience mentoring or leading junior engineers and technical professionals is desirable. Most importantly, you should embody our values of client focus and service excellence, with a passion for making a difference in the water sector.

Why Join Us?

  • Our People Culture: A friendly, collaborative environment.
  • Growth: Be part of our exciting expansion in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Awards: Recognized as the International Consulting Firm of the Year and Best Place to Work—Large Consulting Firms at the 2024 NCE awards, and listed among the most sustainable companies globally by Corporate Knights.
  • Great Benefits: Competitive salary, pension, holidays, private medical insurance, gym discounts, and more.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Great Projects: Opportunities on frameworks with Uisce Eireann and NI Water, delivering impactful projects.
  • Training & Development: Industry-leading programs and paid professional subscriptions.
