Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Eurocodes and UK industry standards needed.
  • Chartered engineer or working towards chartership preferred.

Job description

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer to join a design team working on a range of projects across sectors including water, heavy industrial, power, and design and build. Based in Bridgend, this permanent role involves technical and delivery responsibility for multiple small projects or a larger scheme, reporting to a Senior Project Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare outline and detailed civil engineering designs in accordance with current standards
  • Produce well-structured design calculations, reports and drawings using BIM-led tools
  • Apply sound engineering principles across project phases
  • Use industry software such as STAAD Pro, FEM Analysis and Design, or Autodesk Robot
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions
  • Manage planning and resource allocation to ensure delivery within programme and budget
  • Provide leadership to more junior engineers and contribute to technical development
  • Engage with clients and attend sites to provide buildable solutions

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
  • Strong experience with Eurocodes and UK industry standards
  • Ability to manage resources and project timelines
  • Confident communicator with clients and teams
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with an appropriate professional body
  • Willingness to work from other locations or sites when required
