Qualifications

  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience in a nursing or care home or as a home care worker is required.
  • Knowledge of working with patients suffering from dementia is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside and mentor a team of Care Assistants.
  • Create person-centred care plans and conduct risk assessments.
  • Engage in meaningful activities with residents and promote their independence.

Skills

Understanding of regulatory frameworks - Care Quality Commission (CQC)
Experience in a nursing or care home
Knowledge and practice working with dementia patients
Administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system

Education

NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care
