Qualifications

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant - Days

Salary: £14.80ph plus incentives

Hours: Full Time - 7am-7pm, 3-4 days a week to include alternate weekends

Location: Edwinstowe, NG21 9PA

Note: Team Members under 21 will be paid at £1.00 per hour less, which is above the National Minimum Wage guidelines for this age group.

Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home is purpose-built, homely, with garden areas and provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents.

Day to Day Responsibilities for Senior Care Assistant:

  • Provide the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting residents in all aspects of daily living
  • Promote residents’ independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect; support physical and emotional wellbeing and contribute to shift handovers
  • Lead your shift to maintain high standards and support other team members
  • Complete daily medication rounds, document accurately, and ensure daily charts are completed to a high standard
  • Promote good practice in all aspects of care, challenge poor practice, conduct one-to-one sessions every two months, and investigate complaints as directed by the Home Manager

Essential Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3)
  • At least two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home
  • Knowledge of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning
  • Live within 30 minutes of the Home

Preferred Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:

  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role in a residential or nursing home
  • NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above
  • Conducting effective person-centred one-to-ones
