Senior Buyer (Manufacturing OR Engineering) – Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire ST5

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire ST5
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (with additional hours as required)

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer with experience within Engineering or Manufacturing to join a well established company in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

The Role

As part of our growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a Purchasing Department. This is a key role where you will lead procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure we achieve the best value without compromising on quality or delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase materials and products using both operational and strategic procurement methods.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best commercial terms while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
• Drive efficiency in procurement processes and contribute to departmental KPIs.
• Manage supplier relationships, including resourcing initiatives and VA/VE exercises.
• Monitor and manage costs with strong commercial awareness.
• Work confidently with MRP systems to meet operational demands.
• Support offshore procurement where required.

What We're Looking For

• Proven buying experience within manufacturing or engineering (steel fabrication experience desirable).
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers at all levels.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery.
• Confident using MRP/ERP systems.
• Offshore procurement experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
