NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Buyer to join our Procurement Team. As part of the team, you will play a key role in managing the procurement process and ensuring value for money through effective contract management. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking procurement function that is integral to the efficient delivery of services across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
The Senior Buyer will be a key player in the Commodity Teams, who are responsible for implementing national contracts tendered on behalf of Health Boards by National Procurement. You will also take on local contracting and tendering activities, supporting the diverse needs of the health board. Your role will involve ensuring that all legal requirements and procurement regulations are met, contributing to both cost savings and the Sustainability & Value Programme that underpins NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the health system, using your expertise to negotiate and manage contracts effectively. Your ability to source goods and services that offer both quality and value will directly contribute to the broader organisational goals, ensuring that procurement processes are compliant with both national standards and local requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of procurement experience and relevant qualifications, which are highly sought after in the sector. Your proven ability to manage complex tendering processes and negotiate with suppliers will be key to your success in this role. In addition, you will have an in-depth understanding of public sector procurement regulations, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
