A leading surveying consultancy in the UK is seeking a talented Senior Building Surveyor to join their Truro office. In this hands-on role, you will manage diverse projects across Cornwall, build strong client relationships, and develop your leadership skills within a company recognized for its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The ideal candidate will hold an MRICS qualification or equivalent and have in-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation. Qualifications

  • Hold or show commitment to achieving MRICS chartered status.
  • Take ownership of detailed site inspections and expert advice.
  • Produce high-quality, comprehensive reports with recommendations.
  • Work closely with the Building Surveying Partner on various projects.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with current building regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and uphold professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site inspections and assess building conditions.
  • Prepare and present reports to clients with clear recommendations.
  • Manage client relationships and provide regular updates.
  • Ensure all work meets health and safety standards.
  • Document projects and ensure accuracy at every stage.

Skills

In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Commercially astute with a strong client-facing approach
Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in industry-standard surveying tools and software
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
Highly organised with strong time management skills
