About The Role

Fareham Borough Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join its Internal Audit team, which is delivered in partnership with Portsmouth City Council.

You will assist the team in the delivery of an Internal Audit, Fraud and Assurance Service which meets the objectives of the Council. This includes carrying out internal audit reviews and testing of processes, analysing governance arrangements, risks and controls; and carrying out actions from the Corporate Counter Fraud Strategy including investigating fraud and irregularities.

About You

You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an inquisitive mind and an enthusiasm to find out how processes work and help make them the best that they can be.

It is also important that you have excellent numerical, ICT and written communication skills as well as strong inter-personal skills that will enable you to work as part of a team both within Finance and Audit and other services in the Council.

Ideally you will have the relevant internal audit qualification along with internal audit experience as well as a recognised counter fraud qualification or be willing to work towards qualification.

This post is career graded and appointment within the grade will be based on qualifications and experience.
