Job description

You will have a significant influence on how you want your experience and expertise to develop, and you will be strongly encouraged and supported to get involved in business development work, taking an active role in seminars and networking events, in addition to drafting monthly articles for publication.

The Private Client team is an award‑winning team led by Divisional Head Valerie Robinson, based at the Bromsgrove office. This role is based at the Birmingham office where you will work with one other fee earner. The team operates from offices in Kidderminster, Ludlow, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Birmingham and Telford. You will be based in Birmingham and will have a mix of hybrid/flexible working, driven by business and client needs.

Responsibilities
  • Handle and resolve a range of complex client matters.
  • Advise clients on wills, powers of attorney, probate, estates, trustee powers/duties and establishment of trusts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication throughout.
  • Maintain best practice for debt recovery.
  • Proactively engage in marketing and business development – effect introductions to other divisions.
  • Adhere to and implement Law Society and firm guidelines and regulations.
  • Follow regulatory and best practices in accordance with GDPR and Solicitors Accounts rules.
  • Assist Divisional Head with allocated duties and on technical and professional updates.
  • Line management responsibility where required.
  • Attain individual and assist with divisional financial performance targets.
  • Proven experience handling Private Client cases.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive team environment.
  • A proactive approach to business development and marketing.
