Senior Architectural Technician

Location: Southampton

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

A forward-thinking, design-led architectural practice is seeking a talented Senior Architectural Technician to join its growing Southampton studio. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential projects, the practice works closely with leading UK house builders to create innovative, design-driven housing solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role in the delivery of large-scale residential schemes, working within a supportive, ambitious team that values both technical excellence and creative design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate, detailed technical drawings for large-scale residential projects
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, engineers and clients to achieve design and regulatory objectives
  • Ensure all technical outputs comply with Building Regulations and NHBC requirements
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, supporting their development
  • Contribute to project and client meetings, offering professional input on technical matters
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Architectural Technology (or equivalent qualification)
  • Several years' experience delivering large residential developments for national house builders
  • Strong technical skills with excellent precision and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in CAD and/or BIM software packages
  • In-depth understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
  • A collaborative, team-focused mindset and excellent communication skills
