An independent Accountancy practice based in Godalming is seeking an experienced Accounts and Tax Manager. Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant status essential ACA or ACCA preferred.
• Extensive and demonstrable experience within a UK Accountancy Practice.
• Proven ability to manage a varied portfolio of SME clients independently.
• Confidence in reviewing and managing the work of junior colleagues.
• Up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP including FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Excellent communication skills required for client facing work.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary point of contact for SME clients.
• Manage the full client work cycle ensuring deadlines are met.
• Oversee preparation and finalisation of Statutory Accounts.
• Apply technical knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Review and approve accounts files prepared by junior staff.
• Manage compliance for private clients including Self-Assessment Tax Returns.
• Supervise and guide junior staff and trainees.
• Contribute to the team's ongoing technical development.

Skills

Qualified Accountant status

Experience in UK Accountancy Practice

Ability to manage SME clients

Confidence in reviewing junior work

Knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and FRS 105

Excellent communication skills
