Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting young people with SEN but who have no formal teaching qualification/experience? If so, this could be an ideal role for you where you will receive guidance, mentoring, and training whilst gaining hands‑on experience working one‑to‑one with learners to help them thrive.

This is a term‑time role (46 weeks per year) and 27.5 hours per week working with young people (16+) who have an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). The learners we work with can have complex needs including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and potentially having additional learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The need to deliver innovative and differentiated lessons that incorporate real‑world applications of practical skills to cater for various learning styles and abilities is essential.

Typical Day Responsibilities
  • Helping deliver engaging sessions across vocational, academic, and employability programmes, with the support of experienced tutors.
  • Support the learner in external environments for enrichment or placement activities.
  • Assist in preparing learning materials and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with learners individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being among learners.
  • Participate in internal training and CPD.
  • Support activities towards assessment, attendance tracking, and learner progress monitoring to help support our quality assurance processes.
  • Follow safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies at all times.
