A dedicated educational organization in Scunthorpe is looking for passionate individuals to support children with special educational needs (SEN) and social emotional mental health (SEMH) needs. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, with training provided. Ideal candidates will be patient and resilient, with a caring approach, and be ready to embrace a dynamic work environment with no two days the same. The position requires flexibility and the ability to travel to a semi-rural location.
Are you patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people thrive? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity. We’re working with a specialist school near Berkeley that supports children with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). Many pupils haven’t had an easy time in mainstream education, so the school focuses on a calm, safe, nurturing environment where every child is supported to grow in confidence. No prior school experience is required; attitude matters—being caring, consistent, and willing to support the children and the team.
This isn’t your average classroom environment. Lessons are creative, hands-on, and linked to real life. One moment you might be helping with a maths task, the next outdoors supporting a group activity or a practical skills project. No two days are the same, and every small step forward from the pupils feels like a big win. The staff describe the school as a community where everyone pulls together, supports each other, and celebrates achievements.
