Leader Education are delighted to be recruiting a Primary Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Billingham. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children with additional needs and helping them flourish in a nurturing, supportive environment.

The school supports children aged 4–11 years with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). It prides itself on providing a calm, respectful and inclusive setting where every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential. Recently rated “Good” by Ofsted, the school is recognised for its caring ethos and strong commitment to pupil wellbeing.

About the role:
  • Full-time, long-term position following a successful trial
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in meaningful classroom activities
  • Providing consistent, compassionate support tailored to individual learning needs
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience supporting children with SEND in an educational setting
  • Be caring, patient and committed to honesty, inclusivity and respect
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child wellbeing
  • Be able to support pupils both academically and emotionally
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
