Job summary

Job description

As an SEN Tutor, you will work with students who require additional learning support, delivering personalised lessons that cater to their individual needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, multi‑sensory lessons, using a range of teaching strategies to enhance learning and build confidence. This role involves working closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for each student.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, tailored lessons to students with a variety of SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
  • Use creative and flexible teaching methods to engage students and encourage their academic and personal growth.
  • Provide one‑to‑one tuition in a range of subjects, supporting students in achieving their learning goals.
  • Assess students’ progress, identify areas for development, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and other education professionals to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages self‑confidence and independence.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
  • 6+ months experience working in a UK school
  • Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but not essential)
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child‑related references from the last two years
