Responsibilities
  • Oversee students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring their safety and facilitating their participation in learning activities and comprehension of presented information.
  • Establish a trustworthy relationship with all students and communicate in a manner suitable for their understanding.
  • Promote classroom engagement and maintain student involvement throughout lessons.
  • Create an orderly, purposeful, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the display of students' work and assist in planning learning activities.
  • Support students in practical tasks using various teaching aids.
  • Under the guidance of teaching staff, provide feedback to students, parents, and caregivers regarding their progress, achievements, and any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to protocols related to child protection, health, safeguarding, security, and confidentiality, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate authority.
  • Assist in the supervision of students before and after school, as well as during break times.
  • Accompany teaching staff and students on school outings and extracurricular activities, taking responsibility for a group of students under the teacher's supervision when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an Enhanced child DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain a new one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (Essential).
  • Previous experience in school settings is preferred.
  • Availability of 2 relevant professional references.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of students in a professional and courteous manner.
