Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Medway

Salary: £88.94 – £95+ per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term | Full-time / Part-time

Overview

GSL Education are currently seeking committed SEN Teaching Assistants to work in supportive schools across Medway, supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially within a structured and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum in line with lesson plans.
  • Support pupils according to their individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support students with communication, social interaction, and engagement.
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Cache Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, Degree in Education, SEN, Psychology etc. or a relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
