SEN Teacher - Secondary Pathway (Maternity Cover)
Location: Canterbury
Start: ASAP - March 2026
Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday, 08:30-15:30
Contract: Long-term maternity cover

Tradewind are seeking a fully qualified, experienced SEN Teacher (QTS essential) to join one of our SEN Schools in Canterbury. The school supports children and young people with a wide range of complex needs, including ASD, communication needs, sensory needs.

This role is based within the Secondary Pathway, working with KS3-KS4 learners, and requires a teacher who is confident adapting the curriculum, personalising learning and using creative, multi-sensory approaches to engage students.

Role Includes
  • Full PPA time
  • Report writing
  • Attending after-school meetings, including parents' meetings where required
  • Working closely with a dedicated support team
  • Delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching to meet a range of complex needs
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Strong SEN teaching experience, ideally within a specialist or alternative provision setting
  • Ability to build positive relationships and deliver tailored learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
  • Available Monday to Thursday (or 3 of these days could be considered)
  • Holds UK right to work
  • Hold an enhanced child-only DBS on the update service, or be willing to get a new one. The cost of a new DBS costs 62 and we will pay you this fee back once you complete 20 days of work for us
