Classroom Teacher - SEN Secondary (Complex Needs) - Erdington 🌟

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a confident, skilled, and passionate Classroom Teacher to join a specialist secondary setting in the Erdington area supporting pupils with complex learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a resilient and inspiring educator who can lead a classroom with confidence and deliver high-quality learning for students who require an adapted and nurturing approach.

About the Role:

This position involves teaching small groups of secondary‑aged learners with a wide spectrum of complex needs including ASD, communication challenges, cognitive learning difficulties. You will work alongside experienced support staff and follow a personalised curriculum designed to meet each pupil's developmental pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to a wide range of abilities
  • Leading a classroom with strong behaviour management and creating a structured, positive learning environment
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Implementing EHCP targets and individual learning strategies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Maintaining clear routines and expectations to support emotional regulation and consistency
What We're Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experience within an SEN setting is highly desirable, particularly with complex needs
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to support pupils with challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a multi‑disciplinary team
