Overview

This is a maintained community school for children from 4-19 who are looking for a passionate SEN Teacher to join them. Students here have a wide range of learning needs and disabilities, including moderate, complex, severe, and profound or multiple issues. Many of the pupils have an additional diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition. The school has two sites, primary and secondary.

The primary phase is located in extensive grounds with purpose built play facilities and our KS3 and KS4 & 5 are co-located with mainstream school. All phases are located within a short distance of each other. Pupils and families are well supported and each of the transition points from primary to KS3 and KS4 & 5. Staff work closely together across all the phases to ensure that when a young person moves to the next point in their career, they are given all the support they need.

About the SEN Teacher

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous SEN experience
  • QTS / PGCE, or equivalent qualifications
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Proven track record of successful teaching
Responsibilities
  • As SEN Teacher you are required to adhere to the Learning and Teaching Policy and work in accordance with the agreed policies and school procedures undertaking your share in the duties of the school
  • You are required to be a good role model for the students promoting the vision statement and the ethos of the school
  • As SEN Teacher you will provide a welcoming and exciting learning environment
  • You will be required to work closely with your key stage team and class team, sharing good practice
  • You will be responsible in the first instance to your Key Stage Leader
