Overview

Randstad are looking for a full time SEN Teaching assistant for a mainstream secondary school in Maghull. We seek to recruit passionate, confident and patient SEN TA to work alongside young people with a multitude of Special Needs as soon as possible. Supporting students with social, emotional, mental health needs. Previous experience of working in schools or working with young people with challenging behaviour is desirable, however is not essential. We can offer this role initially on a contract basis, however, there is a scope for this position to move permanently for the right candidate. This is a full-time, long term position to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Be a confident, creative, eager and resilient mentor that can build positive learning relationships with young people.
  • Be patient, passionate and professional.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver to students with challenging behaviour.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and build positive learning relationships with SEN pupils.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills; support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Requirements
  • No formal qualifications required, but a strong professional attitude is expected.
  • Confidence supporting children academically and socially.
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or SEN environment.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Legal Right to Work in the UK and willingness to work long-term full-time for 5 days a week.
