Job summary

A local educational provider in York is seeking dedicated tutors to provide 1:1 tuition for students in need. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with children in the UK and be committed to helping students improve their learning outcomes. This role requires a minimum of 4 months experience, the right to work within the UK, and preferably a DBS check. Tutoring hours are approximately 10 hours weekly, with compensation between £20 and £30 per hour.

We are currently recruiting for tutors in Easingwold, York! At Prospero, we work with local councils and schools to arrange 1:1 tuitions for students in need of extra provisions. We’re looking for hardworking, dedicated tutors who are eager to help students in their learning journey! The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children within the UK, whether that be in a classroom setting, 1:1 tutoring, or in support and pastoral roles.

Here are some details on the role:

  • Location: YO61, within student's home
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: Ongoing
  • Hours: 10 hours per week, split between Tuesday and Thursday
  • Pay: GBP20 - GBP30 per hour.
  • Role: Tuition for a Year 8 student working below ARE. Expected delivery of knowledge: KS2 - KS3. SEN experience desired.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have a Right to Work within the UK.
  • Have at least 4 months experience working with children in the UK.
  • Have a DBS registered on the update service (ideal, but not required, as you can apply for a DBS through us!)

If you have not registered with us prior, you will need to register with us. To do so, you will need:

  • To hold Right to Work within the UK
  • At least 4 months experience working with children within the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (recommended but not required as you can apply for a DBS through us directly).
  • A minimum of two professional references from work within the last two years, and professional references covering any work you’ve had with children or vulnerable adults within the last two years.
