SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated graduate looking to gain experience working with young people with SEN/SEMH needs? Do you have a background in psychology or wish to have a career in therapy, mental health, educational psychology and more?

A vibrant, inclusive school in the Borough of Newham is looking for an individual to join their expert team of teaching staff. This role enables the successful candidate to access valuable training, teaching experience and the opportunity to work alongside a fantastic team. The right person for the position will be able to improve the academic experience and development of young people.

SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant Job Description
  • 97 - 115 per day.
  • Monday to Friday (no weekends).
  • Full-time, Long-Term.
  • Based in Newham
  • Start ASAP.
Role
  • Assisting teaching staff in the classroom with learning.
  • Working closely with individual students and small groups with additional needs.
  • Providing support to young people with SEN/SEMH needs to eliminate barriers within the curriculum and making learning more accessible.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A degree-level qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children, including those with SEN/SEMH needs.
  • A desire to kickstart their career in teaching, educational psychology, mental health, special educational needs and more!
