Job Title: SEN School Care

Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) and helping them thrive in a nurturing environment? A rewarding opportunity awaits you in Dorchester as GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join a local school in a SEN School Care role immediately.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support students with communication and emotional regulation.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Work alongside teachers and therapists to implement tailored support plans and interventions.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to encourage confidence and engagement.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to care and support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN or therapeutic support (advantageous).
To work with GSL Education in SEN School Care, you should
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
