Job summary

A leading educational organization is seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide personalized support for children with special educational needs. Bring your skills, passion and experience into a role where you can truly change a young person’s life. We’re looking for caring education professionals to provide bespoke and holistic 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

What you’ll be doing
  • Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people in their homes or a suitable public setting
  • Delivering personalised, creative sessions that reflect each learner’s needs, interests and abilities
  • Working term-time only, with sessions typically lasting 3 to 5 hours during the school day
  • Working flexibly (on a bank staff contract) as part of a compassionate, expert-led team
Who we’re looking for
  • Education professionals with SEN and SEMH needs experience, such as Autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour
  • Those from Early Years, Primary, Secondary or Post-16 backgrounds, including specialist SEND settings (experience with Makaton, PECS and behaviour support is an advantage)
  • Individuals with a minimum of 2 consistent weekdays of availability
  • Professionals with up-to-date understanding of safeguarding and child protection
