GSL Education are welcoming applications for a SEN Cover Supervisor (SEN CS) to work across Barnsley’s S70 and Barnsley’s S71 areas, ensuring effective classroom management and tailored support for pupils.

As a SEN (Special Educational Needs) Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes, support pupils with learning tasks, and maintain structure and engagement throughout the school day. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring pupils feel supported and included.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise pupils during lessons and ensure continuity of learning.
  • Support pupils with additional needs to engage with pre-planned activities.
  • Maintain classroom behaviour and a safe learning environment.
  • Assist teachers by implementing lesson plans and providing feedback on pupil engagement.
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations to teaching staff.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a SEN Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational support role.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and empathy for pupils with additional needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
