About the Role

The Education Network is recruiting for an experienced and passionate SEMH Teacher to work in one of our specialist partner schools in Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, creative lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, attachment difficulties, and additional learning needs. You will play a key role in supporting their academic progress, personal development, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use behaviour management strategies effectively to support pupils.
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to the leadership team.
  • Promote resilience, independence, and self-esteem in all learners.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or within an alternative provision/PRU setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young people.
  • Resilience, patience, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
