Security Guard – Leiston, UK

We are looking for a Security Guard to join our team at Sizewell B Power Station. The successful candidates will be required to carry out security duties, including personnel and vehicle access control, patrols, maintaining appropriate security records and searches with particular emphasis on the use of modern security techniques.

Full training will be given in all aspects of the job. The salary range associated with this role is £35,059 to £45,641 with an additional allowance of shift pay in line with the appropriate salary point (£11,723 to £13,363). Job Description Responsibilities
  • Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site.
  • Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
  • Conduct external and internal patrols.
  • Maintain appropriate records of occurrences and all logs related to the security department and produce management printouts and/or reports as requested.
  • Ensure all activities, including those undertaken by contract partners, are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, security agreements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and safety rules.

Qualifications
  • Security procedures knowledge is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated pro‑active approach and flexibility as a team member with minimal supervision.
  • Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualification preferred.
  • English and mathematics ‘c’ and above grade passes are an advantage.
  • Previous security experience and computer literacy desirable.
  • Meet Security Vetting criteria – ordinarily requiring residence in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
