Security Architect – Security Assurance & Testing Governance (Preston)

Contract | £650 per day | Outside IR35 | SC Cleared (DV advantageous)

Start : January | On-site minimum 3 days per week

Our client is increasing its specialist security capability to support a major programme and is seeking a Security Architect / Security Assurer with deep experience across security assurance, risk management, and security testing governance.

This role extends beyond traditional architecture design and focuses on end-to-end security assurance , test planning, risk oversight, compliance validation, and operational readiness assessments. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure that systems meet stringent security requirements prior to deployment.

Immediate interview availability – including evening slots.

Key Responsibilities

You will own and deliver a comprehensive assurance and testing documentation suite, including :

• Project Security Risk Register – fully maintained with mitigations and escalations
• Security Compliance Validation Report
• Penetration Test Coordination Pack
• Configuration Validation Report
• Penetration Test Results & Remediation Plan
• Testing Review Summary (functional and assurance tests)
• Operational Readiness Review Document

This role interfaces closely with security architects, engineering leads, and programme governance bodies to maintain security confidence throughout delivery.

Role Requirements

• Security Assurance, Security Architecture, or Security Consulting background
• Hands‑on delivery capability — not strategic‑only
• Proven experience with risk registers, compliance validation, and secure configuration baselines
• Strong understanding of penetration testing, remediation planning, and security test governance
• UK Defence or MoD project experience strongly preferred
• SC clearance essential; DV preferred (or SC with ability to progress)

Engagement Model

• Minimum 3 days per week on site in Preston (air‑gapped environment)
• Outside IR35 | £650 / day
