Job summary

A prominent engineering recruitment firm is seeking a Section Engineer to work in the Wiltshire region. Responsibilities include providing engineering expertise during the tender process and ensuring quality and safety standards on projects. Ideal candidates have a relevant engineering degree, rail and/or highways experience, strong IT skills, and must hold a full UK Drivers Licence. This position offers a competitive salary package.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Engineering degree required.
  • Experience in Rail and/or Highways projects needed.
  • Good level of numeracy and IT skills is a must.
  • Strong team player and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise for tender processes.
  • Collaborate with the bid team and management.
  • Ensure safety and environmental standards are met.
  • Manage quality and assurance aspects of the projects.
  • Supervise staff, operatives, and subcontractors.

Section Engineer – Wiltshire

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 + Pkg

Location: Wiltshire

Region: South West

We are currently looking for a Section Engineer to work for a main contractor based in the Wiltshire Region. This contractor specialise across a variety of civil engineering sectors including Highways and Rail.

This contractor are looking to add to their engineering team in order to assist with some high profile tenders, then going onto deliver the work won, types of projects tendered for can be anything up to £100m.

Candidate Profile:

  • A relevant Engineering degree
  • Previous Rail and / or Highways project experience
  • Good level of numeracy and IT skills – MS Office, Word, Excel etc
  • Strong team player who is self-motivated and able to communicate with people at all levels
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Ideally hold a PTS card
  • Full UK Drivers Licence

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Add engineering expertise to the tender process
  • Work closely with the bid team & management
  • Contribution to the safety/environmental/sustainability standards of the works on the relevant sites.
  • Management of the Quality and Assurance aspects of the works
  • Implementation of the project programme and possession plan
  • Supervision and management of staff, operatives and plant (inc Subcontractors)
  • Engineering management of the works
  • Awareness and contribution to implementation of BS11000 Collaborative Standard.
