Section Engineer - Energy Infrastructure

Location: Norwich

Salary: £45,000 - £52,000

Contract: Permanent

We're seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a fast-growing contractor on a high-profile energy project in Norwich. The Role

As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a section of civils works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in coordinating with site teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with technical and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting out all types of civils works accurately and efficiently
  • Producing and implementing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) from drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring quality management on your section, including oversight of temporary works
  • Supporting procurement schedules, take-offs, and materials planning
  • Collaborating closely with the Site Agent to ensure works are properly planned and resourced
  • Mentoring and supporting other engineers within the team
  • Ensuring all temporary works are designed and implemented safely
About You

We're looking for engineers who combine technical expertise with strong organisational and communication skills.

Essential
  • Competent in setting out all civils works
  • Able to create and implement ITPs from drawings and specifications
  • Experience with procurement schedules and take-offs
  • Relevant CSCS card
Desirable
  • Temporary Works Coordinator experience
  • SMSTS/SSSTS certified
  • HSG47 Service Avoidance (Cat/Genny)
