Overview

Secondary schools in Liverpool and the surrounding area are seeking reliable, adaptable, and confident cover teachers to support with planned and unplanned staff absences. These flexible roles are ideal for qualified teachers looking to work across a range of schools and subjects, without the added responsibilities of planning and marking.

This is a great opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to gain varied experience and build strong local school connections. We also accept application from educators with previous Cover Supervisor experience or recent university graduates looking to start a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects (Key Stages 3–4; Key Stage 5 may be available depending on experience).
  • Maintain classroom order and uphold school behaviour policies.
  • Ensure students remain engaged and on task.
  • Adapt to different school environments with confidence and professionalism.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of the day.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desired but not essential.
  • Experience teaching in UK secondary schools.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Flexible, punctual, and professional.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
