Overview

Want to work in a busy toy shop at the best time of year? At The Entertainer, Guildhall Shopping Centre, Exeter, we love to create memories for customers by helping to find the perfect toy or gift, keeping the shelves full and our stores welcoming. This role is for a Seasonal Sales Assistant during the Christmas period.

Key Information About This Role
  • Rates of Pay:
    • 16-20 year olds - £11.00 per hour
    • 21-year-old plus - £12.21 per hour
  • Contract end date: 3rd January 2026
  • Store hours: Our stores are open 7 days a week; you will need to be able to support weekend work, including Sundays.
The Hours We Have Available For This Store Are
  • A 12-hour per week contract: you may work 4-hour shifts over 3 days, or you might be asked to work two 6-hour shifts.
  • A 20-hour per week contract: you may typically be working 4-hour shifts over 5 days.

If you are flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and different days of the week, have a great attitude and a friendly personality, we can make the hours you are available – work for you and us. Please provide as much detail as possible in your application form. There may also be an opportunity for you to work extra hours in this role, depending on trade.

All Seasonal Sales Assistant contracts will require you to work on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve – these are some of our busiest days of the year.

To Be a Seasonal Sales Assistant At The Entertainer You Must Be
  • Reliable and flexible in what hours you can work; there may be a chance of extra hours if we’re busy
  • Approachable and confident to deliver excellent customer service
  • Physically fit and able to move stock around the store, working with deliveries and pallets both independently and as a team
  • Willing and able to help out in our local Tesco concession space (merchandising, keeping shelves full, talking to customers, handling deliveries)
