Role:Scrum Master

Location:We operate a hybrid schedule, meaning 2-3 days a week in the office based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.

Salary:Competitive, plus excellent benefits

Working hours:We work on a core hours principle. Our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00; you can work around these to suit you!

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Scrum Master to guide and support our cross‑functional Agile teams across e‑commerce, websites, mobile apps, clinical platforms, customer care, and fulfilment services.

As Scrum Master, you will be a servant leader and coach, enabling squads to deliver against an ambitious digital healthcare roadmap while maintaining quality, compliance, and alignment to our strategic goals. You will foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and self‑organisation, ensuring our teams deliver high‑value outcomes sprint after sprint.

Our tech teams keep us running 24/7 to make sure all our patients get world class service. To support that, this role may include participation in an out‑of‑hours rota as required by the business. We operate fair scheduling process as well as additional compensation for all on‑call periods.

What you’ll be doing?
  • Scrum Facilitation: Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, Feature Refinement, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are efficient and outcome‑focused.
  • Team Coaching: Mentor and guide teams to adopt Agile principles, fostering a self‑organising culture and improving delivery performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Product Owners & Owners, Head of Delivery & Tech Leads, and senior stakeholders to ensure backlog clarity, alignment, and prioritisation against business objectives.
  • RAID Leadership: Proactively identify and remove delivery blockers, escalating where necessary to maintain momentum.
  • Cross‑Functional Alignment: Enable seamless coordination between technical, Marketing, Commercial, Clinical, fulfilment, and customer care teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Delivery Metrics: Track and share Agile performance metrics (velocity, burn‑down charts, cycle time) to drive continuous improvement and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Quality & Compliance: Promote a delivery culture that balances speed with regulatory, security, and patient‑safety requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage retrospection and adoption of new practices to enhance delivery flow, team morale, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Who are we looking for?
  • Agile Knowledge: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, especially Scrum, and practical experience managing Agile sprints.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in complex, multi‑team Agile environments.
  • Technical Fluency: Ability to converse effectively with developers and understand technical constraints, architecture, and system design.
  • Backlog Management: Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, or Azure DevOps for backlog grooming and workflow tracking.
  • User‑Centric Mindset: Strong empathy for users and ability to translate feedback into actionable deliverables with proven ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams in adopting Agile principles.
  • Analytical Thinking: Comfortable using data (quantitative and qualitative) to make informed decisions
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement. Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work with UX/UI designers, engineers, QA teams, and business leaders. Experience in coordinating across multiple delivery streams, including web, app, e‑commerce, and operational services.
  • Problem‑Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to evaluate trade‑offs and make sound product decisions.
  • Understanding of technical systems and ability to operate within technology‑driven environments – bridging the gap between technical and business requirements
