Science Technician with Teaching Support - Kettering Area - Full-Time
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: 90 - 130 per day (depending on experience and responsibilities)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential for permanent placement)
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a forward-thinking secondary school in the Kettering area to recruit a versatile Science Technician who is also confident supporting in the classroom. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong science background who enjoys both the practical and educational aspects of the subject.

About the Role:
You will work closely with the science department to prepare and manage equipment for experiments, ensure health and safety protocols are followed, and support students in practical lessons. In addition, you will have the opportunity to assist with teaching small groups or covering lessons where required - making this an ideal role for someone considering a future in teaching or already with experience in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons

  • Support teaching staff with practical experiments and demonstrations

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the lab

  • Assist with classroom supervision, small group work, and occasional lesson cover

  • Help maintain an organised and well-resourced science environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a science-related qualification or relevant lab experience

  • Be confident working with secondary-aged students
