Job summary

An educational trust is seeking a compassionate school nurse to oversee student care and manage medical needs at Spalding Academy. The successful candidate will act as the main First Aid contact, support students with medical conditions, and manage the Medical Room. Prior experience in a medical setting and excellent communication skills are required. Full training provided for specific medical knowledge. The role offers a supportive environment in a school setting.

Overview

South Lincolnshire Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a caring, committed and compassionate school nurse/medical first aider at Spalding Academy. Working to support the school's medical needs, the successful candidate will:

Responsibilities
  • Be the main First Aid contact in school, overseeing the care of students who are unwell or injured.
  • Be confident in deciding on appropriate medical course of action and implement that action.
  • Support students with specific medical conditions.
  • Manage the Medical Room, First Aid equipment, wheelchairs and order of necessary kits.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • May have knowledge on specific medical conditions such as (but not limited to) diabetes and allergies and the handling of prescribed drugs from a Doctor for students. Full training will be provided.
  • Be able to use a computer with confidence including software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate - this is desirable and full training will be provided.
  • Previous experience within a medical setting desirable.
