Overview

Salary: SO1 Points 23 - 25 £40,404 - £41,637 per annum pro rata (Actual Salary Payable £37,358 - £38,498). Term Time plus 2 weeks. Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm. An outstanding opportunity for a competent Librarian to join Langdon Park School.

Main Purpose of the Job

Langdon Park are currently looking to recruit an experienced librarian. You must have at least one year's experience of working in a school library and you must have knowledge of library management software.

Responsibilities
  • To promote core library services – foster a love of reading and reading for pleasure
  • To support and promote reading clubs
  • To support the quality of teaching and learning across our School
  • To develop and manage the School's Library
  • To organise and manage key events (for example World Book Day)
  • Promote the development of reading for recreation and take a lead in creating a whole school environment which encourages reading for pleasure
  • Support the educational aims and objectives of the school by liaising with Subject Leaders to ensure the library provides appropriate resources to support Independent Learning and other research activities
  • Where appropriate, advise staff on policies for the provision of learning resources across the curriculum
  • Manage the study environment for both curriculum-based and independent learning, including the management and integration of physical areas and virtual learning environments to create positive learning spaces
  • A familiarity with reading programmes such as Thinking Reading is desirable
