Job summary

A leading co-educational school in Portsmouth is seeking an ICT Technician responsible for IT support tasks including handling assistance calls, installing equipment, and providing training. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly attitude, and knowledge of Apple and Microsoft Operating Systems. This role requires a commitment to customer service and a willingness to complete a DBS check. Full-time hours from Monday to Friday are available, ensuring a vibrant and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, 'can do' attitude.
  • Knowledge of Apple Operating Systems and Google G Suite.
  • Willing to complete a DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely response to assistance calls via phone, email, or on-site.
  • Escalate unresolved requests to Senior Technician or Head of ICT Services.
  • Maintain communication with customers during support calls.
  • Update the Helpdesk System with call statuses.
  • Install new IT equipment throughout the school.
  • Provide training in software and hardware usage.
  • Ensure IT Suites are tidy and operational.
  • Assist staff and pupils using iPads and Google G Suite.
  • Provide AV equipment support when necessary.

Skills

Excellent communication skills

Good working knowledge of AV and computer hardware
