Wright Choice Education is currently recruiting a School Caretaker to work across primary and secondary school settings in Sandwell and Dudley. This role is ideal for a reliable and practical individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑organised school environment.

The Role

As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, security, and upkeep of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and close the school site as required
• Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensure the school premises and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained
• Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems
• Conduct routine health & safety checks
• Set up rooms and equipment for school activities and events
• Liaise with contractors and report any maintenance issues
• Ensure safeguarding, security, and site safety procedures are followed

Essential Experience & Skills

• Previous experience in a caretaking, site management, or maintenance role
• Good practical and DIY skills
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
