School Administrator – Secondary School in Bury

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £90 - £110 per day (dependant on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a highly organised and motivated School Administrator to join a thriving Secondary School in the Bury area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional looking to take on a fast-paced and rewarding role within a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the school's daily operations. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, pupils, parents, and external agencies, providing exceptional administrative support across a wide range of duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the school's reception area and acting as the first point of contact for visitors and parents
  • Supporting attendance procedures, data entry, and reporting
  • Updating and maintaining school records, SIMS (or similar MIS) data, and confidential documentation
  • Handling telephone calls, emails, and general communication efficiently and professionally
  • Assisting with HR, safeguarding, and compliance administration where needed
  • Providing general administrative support across departments to ensure the smooth running of the school
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a school or educational setting. Applications from individuals without school-based experience cannot be accepted.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with school MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, or similar)
  • A proactive, flexible, and calm approach to a busy workload
  • A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
