Sample Coordination Manager – RPS

RPS is looking for a Sample Coordination Manager to support our highly respected and knowledgeable Laboratory team. This is a Permanent, full‑time role based at the Bedford laboratory with a fixed working pattern of 9:00am to 5:00pm to facilitate communication with various teams and clients during core working hours.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the team of project coordinators, including performance, absence, creating and managing Schedules, monitoring agreed KPIs for the team and providing updates to senior management.
  • Active management of the Customer Experience (CX) by ensuring the team consistently delivers good professional service to clients.
  • Lead and represent the business in customer meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Ensure customers receive timely, accurate reports and updates and that any queries are followed up swiftly.
  • Ensure subcontracted work is performed accurately and monitored throughout, including reporting and invoicing processes, as well as courier management.
  • Manage effective change control.
  • Record and manage actions and that they are performed on‑time.
  • Communicate with various Laboratory Teams to ensure smooth delivery of work.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and tidy working area through regular checks and communication.
Qualifications
  • Extensive years’ experience in laboratory / science related project management with demonstrated project delivery and meeting client requirements.
  • Experience in developing and leading teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to make robust decisions based on available information.
  • Working effectively with large datasets in Excel and other database formats.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience of working in a laboratory setting and using LIMS software would be advantageous.
