Alexander James Recruiting has been retained by a provider material handling equipment who are seeking a new Sales & Operations Director to work nationally running a sales and service team. The position requires an industry professional with a strong technical understanding and equally the ability to build strong relationships. With a competitive package this is a great opportunity to work for a stable & innovative provider of specialist forklift truck products and lead their growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage & develop a small sales team and assist them in winning business nationally
  • Develop this business further by seeking new opportunities within niche industries
  • Travel to customer site and conduct site surveys to advise and quote for specialist forklift truck products
  • Have a strong aftersales/service focus by liaising with the Service Manager, engineer’s and ensuring service requirement are met
  • Ensure targets are hit in line with set budgets and work with the UK MD to achieve this.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of material handling products with a preference of an individual with sales experience within the sector and a proven ability to win and manage key account business. Although the role will involve some account management, the individual will need to have an expectation for targeting new business. Given the value of the company provide a premium product. an appreciation and understanding of lower volume sales as well longer leads times and longer lease periods must be understood. Although direct experience of this is not required, an individual with this mindset is crucial. You will ideally be located with good access across the Midlands and North of England and equally have a strong service focus.
